THIS MONTH'S ARTICLE - RETURN TO ANKHTIFI
In March 2009 I returned to the burial place of the charismatic Ankhtifi after a period of 20 years. Many things had changed in the local area although I am delighted to say the tomb is still as I knew it all those years ago in 1989. The buzz was still tangible when entering the Nomarchs last resting place.

See www.touregypt.net/featurestories/ank.htm

I am pleased to report the neighbouring tomb of Sobekhotep is in a far better condition than on my previous visit. No wild dogs necessitating a large gun the smell thank goodness a thing of the past. The burial pits have been cleared most important you can now discern the tomb decoration the Hieroglyphs although much damaged can be recognised. The Mayor now just a memory Awad my driver more portly than 20 years ago as am I, nothing changes.
