| In March 2009 I returned to the burial place of the charismatic Ankhtifi after a period of 20 years. Many things had changed in the local area although I am delighted to say the tomb is still as I knew it all those years ago in 1989. The buzz was still tangible when entering the Nomarchs last resting place.
See www.touregypt.net/featurestories/ank.htm I am pleased to report the neighbouring tomb of Sobekhotep is in a far better condition than on my previous visit. No wild dogs necessitating a large gun the smell thank goodness a thing of the past. The burial pits have been cleared most important you can now discern the tomb decoration the Hieroglyphs although much damaged can be recognised.
