The monument in Koustogerako commemerating the three villages Moni, Livadas and Koustogerako that suffered at the hands of the Nazis in September 1943 being burned to the ground. The villages paid dearly for there resistance many inhabiants executed by firing squads. Though as with the uprisings in 1527, 1821 the pheonix rose from the ashes.
